Spanning a decade from 1935 to 1945, this historical novel tells the story of the Manhattan Project through the eyes of some of its principals — Oppenheimer, Lawrence, Fermi, Groves, Roosevelt, Churchill— as they rush to build an atomic bomb before Hitler does.
