Description
Spanning a decade from 1935 to 1945, this historical novel tells the story of the Manhattan Project through the eyes of some of its principals—Oppenheimer, Lawrence, Fermi, Groves, Roosevelt, Churchill—as they rush to build an atomic bomb before Hitler does. When it becomes apparent that the Nazi’s do not have such a weapon, many Project scientists question the wisdom of continuing the effort to build an atomic bomb. Two of them do something about it. |
